- Word of the year 2025
Some questions to ask yourself when you want to figure out a word or phrase to help you stay on track with the Lord this year: 1. what's your main goal this year that you have that will impact your relationship with the Lord in a good way? 2. what are you struggling to overcome or get better at? 3. what has the Lord been speaking most often to you about? Now take your time and think about some words that have been stirring your heart towards the better. I'll share the word I had for last year, 2024. Obvious. this word meant a lot. there were so many times that I just wasn't obvious in my actions that I loved the Lord. Either in my home amongst my family, at church within my community, or even just with friends or in public. our actions speak volumes so i wanted to become more obvious that i loved the Lord without the need to just say words. would you believe a christian who called himself a christian but they acted negatively? I couldn't, so, why should I act the same? especially when I did love the Lord and wanted to show it. I wanted to be obvious. obvious that I was filled with God's love, patience, joy, power, strength, courage, etc... i wanted. no, needed to be obvious. so seeing that word everyday on my prayer board helped me remember to put extra effort to be more obvious. but remember, not only in public. I direly needed to be obvious to the Lord in private. A godly woman named Emma Mae Mcdaniel inspired me and I admire her very much. A video I watched last year on her podcast made me think of the word obvious. you can watch it by clicking here . " It's obvious the way that she walks with her head held high. The way that she seeks to serve and not be served. The way that she's walking with joy in the midst of difficult times. The way that she has peace in the midst of hearing so many difficult messages in the midst of a troubled world. She doesn't have a troubled heart. Her joy is so full. It's obvious that there's something different about her. People may not even know that it's God that is with you people may not even know that it's God who's in you . . . but they can recognize that there's something different about you. " -Emma Mae McDaniel Now this year, one word speaks volumes to me. Obedience. If I'm faithful in the little, it will show the Lord, even though He already knew i'd be, and my family that they can trust me with much. I haven't been doing that lately so i want to change that. especially because obedience is far more valuable to the Lord than sacrifice. With Love, eliza mary

0 4 . 1 1 . 2 0 2 4 Hii there! It's a joy to have you here! Let me start by introducing myself:) My name is Eliza Mary and I've finally decided to start sharing my journey with y'all as I'm in the process of becoming the woman that God has in mind for me to become and as I'm a homemaker in the making. This is where we Christian ladies could encourage one another and be encouraged as we're running in the exact opposite that this crazy world is headed. The Lord has put on my heart to start this blog and I can't wait to see what He has in store, and I pray that this blog will give Him all the glory! I grew up in a somewhat small town that is not, in any way, small anymore. I was blessed to be born into a strong Christ-centered family with faithful parents and a Bible-based church community. I don't remember a summer without volleyball or church picnics and It has been a blessing to fellowship, learn, and grow with my friends. I've been blessed with two sisters, two brothers, a brother-in-law, and a nephew or niece on the way! I've also been greatly blessed with amazing Christ-led parents who have supported me throughout my life! My entire family has encouraged and supported me through my walk with the Lord, and if any of you are reading this, thank you. I love you guys so so much Since the age of three, my parents implemented us in church activities and encouraged us to start serving the Lord through serving our local church. One way we started serving was by playing instruments. Oh, what a joy! That's when music became one of our favorite ways to worship the Lord. I guess music is one of the ways our family connects with Him and I wouldn't trade it for anything. And then there's traveling. Oh, how I love to travel and see the beauty of God's creation all around! Since day one, I've cherished every day we've spent outdoors! Ask my dad, he knows, haha! The Lord was and is a HUGE part of my life, even when I wasn't right with Him. He's lifted me from the darkness, saved me from my dark disgusting sin, He realigns me on what race I'm supposed to be runnin', and He's teaching me to trust and pray. Ah, you see I used present tense?? I'm still being molded and I'll always be in the process of being shaped into His image until the day I meet Him face to face. It's a lifelong process and I'm inviting you to join me to seek the Lord alongside our sisters in Christ. I pray that this blog will lead you closer to God and closer to the person He created you to be. I'm excited to share my journey with y'all and, with the Lord's help, the words I write on this blog could encourage and uplift you as we walk in our personal relationships with the Lord. Hmm, so maybe you came across to this blog post after you saw the sourdough recipe...y'all wanted white bread. i get it, i get it, trust me. I KNOW how good my mom's white bread is and i'm here to spill the beans to the best white bread recipe I know. to be completely honest, my everyday go to bread IS the sourdough one buut I LOvE this white bread for holidays, birthdays, and just about any event possible because it's just that. it's like the once in a while dessert but bread wise. and yes, it's that good. So let's get to ittt I'll just add this photo right here to make you stop what your doing and get this in the OvEN the ingredients needed for one loaf: -800 grams flour -2 1/2 tsp salt -1 Tbsp sugar -1 tsp yeast -1 Tbsp starter -150 mL olive oil -2 1/2 cups warm water -to start, you'll need to mix the dry ingredients. -after measuring your water, pour the oil into the water and mix it together (i know it won't mix but just pour it in together). -pour all wet ingredient with the dry ingredients and mix well. -place the bowl of the dough in a warm area in your kitchen, cover with a towel, and let it sit there for 5-6 hours or overnight<<--preferred overnight, but if so, make sure the water that is used is not hot or even really warm. it should be just a tad bit warm to not over react the yeast -after the hours are up, on a floured surface (but not too much), form the dough into a round loaf. <<-- this does get sticky so have flour on your hands when forming it. -place the loaf onto a piece of parchment paper and place in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours -heat the oven to 450 F -place the empty pot into the oven to warm up for 30 minutes -after the 30 minutes is up, dont forget to score your bread befor baking it! oh and don't forget to rub the flour on first before scoring -bake the bread for 35 minutes with the lids on and 15 minutes with lid off (depends on the oven/you learn more as you practice and make it more often) Yay! there you go. you make yourself a loaf of white bread. look at ittt. the steamm. just wait a bit, you gotta let it cool down. after it cools down . . . :) enjoy with love, eliza mary

- The meaning behind 10:31
When I named this blog "10:31 | Running the Race" I wanted the blog to have a name that meant something special. something that stayed with me. Something that I would relate to in every season of my life. There might be a few of you who know what 10:31 means but a couple years ago, my family and I thought of watching a movie together. Our favorite movies to see are movies that are similar to War Room, Pamala's Prayer , The Forge, Courageous, or God's not dead. That night, we came across a movie named Remember the Goal . Seeing it was about Cross Country, as you know me, I begged my family to watch it with me. I loved cross country and still do but most imporntanly, I was just finishing the last weeks of cross country myself. Cross country had such an impact on me. because of this, the movie became one of my favorites and to this day i've rewatched it three times. The movie, Remember the Goal, is all about doing your best even though there are those that don't agree with what the Lord lead you to do. the coach in the movie, started the season with this one verse. "So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." 1 Corinthians 10:31 1 Corinthians 10:31? ohh, 10:31. that exact verse is the plain meaning of 10:31. Do all for the glory of God. all. whether it's running, school, motherhood, work, singing, your time of relaxation, or even drinking just a plain cup of water. do it all for Him. what does that mean exactly?
